To celebrate their roaring success this season, on Sunday 1st May Shrewsbury Town Women’s will be taking to the Montgomery Waters Meadow pitch and going head-to-head with Walsall Wood Ladies in their last game of the season.
Walsall Wood Ladies FC, who are currently 2nd in the West Midlands Regional Women’s Football League, sit just 6 points behind Shrewsbury Town Women’s, and with 10/16 wins under their belt, it’s going to be tough competition.
This will be the first time that Shrewsbury Town Women’s face Walsall Wood Ladies this season, but not the first time they’ve taken to the Montgomery Waters pitch. Back in November last year, they faced Lye Town Ladies in Round One of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup and after a challenging game, were unlucky to take a 2-1 defeat.
However, this defeat didn’t overshadow the incredible season that was yet to come. Shrewsbury Town Women’s now sit at the number one spot in the league table and show no signs of slowing down.
Shrewsbury Town Women’s are ready to take this season League trophy, but they need your support to do so.
When Shrewsbury Town Women’s last played at Montgomery Waters Meadow stadium they welcome over 540 supporters to the stands – This time, we want to double that number! We want to welcome over 1,000 supporters to watch this penultimate game. With a 3pm kick off we want to fill the South stand with passionate supporters and help Shrewsbury Town Women’s end this season with a bang.
