Shrewsbury Town’s players will have a price on their heads when they take on Lincoln City in the Checkatrade Trophy final at Wembley next month.
To celebrate the occasion, one of the club’s main sponsors, caravan dealership Salop Leisure, has pledged to donate £100 to Shrewsbury Town in the Community for every goal scored by the team in the final on April 8.
Shrewsbury Town in the Community delivers a wide range of programmes across Shropshire, utilising the power of sport to engage, inspire and strengthen the local community.
Salop Leisure’s chairman Tony Bywater, who will be at Wembley with many of his staff to cheer on The Town, said: “Shrewsbury have given a fantastic boost to the town and Shropshire by reaching the final.
“The players will not need any extra incentive to score, but I thought sponsoring their goals would at least benefit a local charity that supports community projects.
“We are very proud as a company to be associated with the football club, which is enjoying a memorable season. Congratulations must go to chairman Roland Wycherley, director James Hughes, chief executive Brian Caldwell, manager Paul Hurst and the whole staff for their achievements so far this season.”
