Over the Whitsun half term, Shrewsbury Town held a number of soccer schools across Shropshire and mid-wales, with coaches delivering in locations including RAF Shawbury and Knighton.
Throughout the week each session focused on developing a different area of a participants game, with the sessions addressing 5 key areas of a footballers ability. The skills developed include shooting, dribbling, defending and teamwork, with prizes up for grabs for the winner of each day’s skill-specific challenges.
Each day also saw a participant handed the Shrewsbury Town in the Community Golden Ticket. This ever popular prize, handed out to participants who show great skill throughout the day but also go above and beyond to help others on the course and showcase great characteristics towards other players, provides the winner with a special opportunity to walk out with the squad of Shrewsbury Town at a first team fixture.
This specialist prize was handed out across 4 of our Whitsun courses, with winners at Shrewsbury, RAF Shawbury, Knighton and Ludlow. The winners were Hakeem Zarman, Harry Griffith, Tarran Hollinshead, Hashim Haider, Riley Reid, Alfie Reid, Ryan Harris, Fraser Powell, Tom Collier, and Evan Bradley, who will now walk out with the 2018/2019 Shrewsbury Town squad ahead of a first team fixture.
On the success of the Whitsun soccer Schools, Shrewsbury Town in the Community are delighted to announce the release of their Summer Soccer School dates as part of their Summer Roadshow.
