As part of their recruitment schedule in partnership with Shrewsbury Colleges Group, Shrewsbury Town in the Community are delighted to announce their new BTEC Football elite training experience.
The session, aimed at year 11 pupils within secondary schools across Shropshire who are deciding what to do as their next level of education, is designed potential students to come and see what the partnership has to offer on their BTEC programme.
Whilst the BTEC offers a range of education modules within football, this course also provides the chance for pupils to train three times a week as well as playing a weekly fixture in the national CEFA league. During the 2018/19 season, the squad have the opportunity to play the game against Premier League and Championship clubs including Blackburn Rovers, Preston North End and Manchester City.
For those not playing in the national CEFA league, football opportunities still arise by playing in the local Shropshire Colleges league, which not only provide game time but the opportunity for players to push on into the ‘elite’ squad in the national CEFA league.
The elite training experience will run over five dates throughout the academic year, with the experience taking place in October, December, February, April and May.
The first of these experiences is set to run on Friday 26th October at the Shrewsbury Town in the Community pitch, SY2 6ST, between 12 midday until 2pm.
Pupils who are interested in attending this experience to find out more about the Level 3 Football and Education BTEC programme can sign up online through the official soccer schools website. For any other enquiries please contact Shrewsbury Town in the Community.
