On Sunday 15th March, we will be teaming up with the Mercedes-Benz of Shrewsbury 10k to bring a 600m disability race to Shropshire as part of our efforts to ensure that everyone can be included in the event.
The fun run will be open to anyone with a disability of any age and will take place just before the Shrewsbury 10k race on 15th March 2020 at 9am. There are a maximum of 50 placesĀ available for the Disability 600m event which will start and finish on the Hight Street in Shrewsbury. The day promises to have a fantastic atmosphere as the event has been building year on year and we hope this new addition helps to continue that growth.
We are expecting over 2000 runners to take part in the race which completely sold out last year, so anyone thinking about making good on their New Year’s goals will have to act fast to secure their place!
Jamie Edwards, CEO of Shrewsbury Town in the Community is excited about what the future could hold for the event. “Shrewsbury Town in the Community has been chosen as the charity for the race this year and as part of this we wanted to offer something to help make the day more inclusive for everybody. We hope that as well as helping raise awareness of some of our projects that it can provide a new opportunity for disabled participants to take part in their own event on the day and help raise funds so that we can look into investing further into similar events in the future.”
