As brothers, Logan and Corey struggled to see eye to eye, but through taking part in training sessions they found common ground that has set them up for the future.
Read StorySince joining our ShrewsAbility sessions in 2017, Zac has grown alongside the charity and has discovered new opportunities that can allow him to pursue a future with no limits.
Despite living with Cerebral Palsy, Zac didn’t let this affect his aspirations. At our ShrewsAbility sessions, Zac found a passion for football and was able to play alongside other participants facing similar challenges. He loved playing in goal and getting involved with different areas of the sessions.
This is where he gained an interest in coaching, and started to consider it as possibility for his future career.
In the Summer of 2022, Zac joined the Foundation for a week of work experience, in which he got involved with different areas of the organisation from coaching, to media. All of our staff members noted his incredible character and signature cheekiness that made working with him a pleasure. While on his work experience, Zac spoke to our College and University team and was able to discuss pathways to help him pursue a sporting career.
One of these pathways was our Coaches’ Academy, a programme that teaches 14 to 15-year-olds how to develop their coaching skills through both classroom and practical based learning. Upon graduating from the programme, Zac wishes to join our College and University programme and achieve a coaching qualification.
We want to provide opportunities to help individuals achieve their goals and realise their potential, but we can only do this with your support.
