Shrewsbury Town Foundation Launches GameChangers in Partnership with Community Resource and Partners
The Shrewsbury Town Foundation (STF) is thrilled to announce the launch of the GameChangers programme, a transformative initiative aimed at empowering young people through sports education. This exciting new programme is being delivered in partnership with Community Resource, Shropshire Youth Association, and Shropshire Youth Support Trust with the funding being provided by the Lintel Trust.
The GameChangers programme, set to launch this October, will provide a comprehensive three-week coaching education curriculum in secondary schools across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. The programme is designed to develop crucial life skills such as confidence, teamwork, and sports development, while also promoting overall wellbeing among participants.
In addition to the coaching education programme, the Shrewsbury Town Foundation will be offering the Coaches Academy. This unique opportunity includes the use of the FA’s online Playmaker course, complemented by practical sessions, and the chance to complete the FA Introduction to Coaching course—completely free of charge.
Calvin Latham, Education & Employability Manager at Shrewsbury Town Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative: “I’m really excited to partner with Community Resource and other local partners to use sport as a hook to engage local young people, build aspirations, and develop sporting opportunities in the area.”
