Jamie Edwards to leave role as CEO

Following 10 successful years, Jamie Edwards has made the difficult decision to leave his role as chief executive officer of the Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation to take up a new challenge.

During his time at the foundation, Jamie has overseen the rapid expansion of the club’s charitable arm.

The past decade has seen the organisation grow from a small group of coaches delivering in schools, to a charity that is leading the way when it comes to health, education and improving the opportunities of young people across Shropshire.

Jamie’s departure comes at a pivotal moment for the Shrewsbury Town Foundation, as it looks ahead to future endeavours.

He will play a key role in the coming months as we look for a successor to inherit a legacy of achievement and a solid foundation upon which to build.

The board of trustees at Shrewsbury Town Foundation has started the search for Jamie’s replacement and is committed to finding a candidate who shares his passion for community development.

“It has been an absolute privilege to support the development of the foundation over the past 10 years. Shrewsbury Town always has, and always will be, a club rooted in the Shropshire community. The opportunity to develop a foundation that trustees, staff and supporters are proud of has been both a real challenge and an honour.
A special thanks has to go to those before me, from which I inherited something special to develop. I would also like to say a big thank you to the football club board, managers, staff and players for positively supporting and promoting the foundations work. The invaluable support and guidance I have received from the trustees and most importantly all the staff who have, and continue to make a significant impact to people’s lives across Shropshire.”
