Shrewsbury Town Foundation careers fair helped to connect talent with opportunity.
A massive thank you to everyone who attended our Careers Fair at Shrewsbury Town Football Club on the 25th of September! The event brought together local businesses and national companies, offering incredible opportunities for job seekers and those looking to explore new career paths.
With 126 job seekers attending and 20 employers across various sectors—retail, healthcare, hospitality, public services, construction, and education—the event was a great success. Among the highlights were major companies like Tesco, which engaged with 39 attendees, and Subway, where all 13 attendees were invited for interviews. Other notable outcomes included Nando’s receiving two applications on the day, with both candidates invited to trial shifts, and Complesso Care shortlisting nine out of 14 attendees for interviews.
Through the collaborative nature of the event, the foundation along with the dedication of employers such as Shropshire Council, Staffline, Affinity Care, and many others, helped create a space where talent and opportunity could meet. Many employers expressed positive feedback, emphasising the event’s accessibility and the quality of candidates. One employer stated, “The event was very well organized, with good footfall and solid candidates.”
