Annual Gala Dinner proves a huge success

Shrewsbury Town in the Community celebrated their success in their annual celebration dinner on Friday 1st December 2017.

The event, hosted by Ryan Jervis MBE, recognised six individuals that have shown outstanding effort within the charities programmes, from Shrewsability and education as well as volunteers who do so much for the organisation.

Special thanks must go to the evenings award sponsors, Stag Capital Finance, Nick Jones Wealth Planning, Shrewsbury Colleges Group, University Centre Shrewsbury and GK Mot and Tachograph.

Trustee Nick Jones of Nick Jones Wealth Planning spoke highly about the work of Shrewsbury Town in the Community and praised their Friends of the Community Scheme, which helps not only to raise funds but also create a strong business network within Shrewsbury.

“Friends of the community isn’t just a big national pot of money, it goes to individual projects, locally and you can see the differences.”

Mike Events of the EFL Trust was also at the event, of the night he said; “It’s been an outstanding evening, it’s a real credit to Shrewsbury Town in the community and the people who have organized this evening, and it’s great to see lots of money raised for the charity.”

“The EFL Trust has been going for 10 years now, and to see the money spent as it is and such great programmes being delivered in Shrewsbury is amazing.”

“What has really impressed me tonight is the support from local businesses and local partners, who have come in and got behind the charity and is what makes Shrewsbury Town in the Community really special.”
